Setting up Virgin TV Ireland with Broadband and Homephone
First, choose the right setting-up guide
Check you have the right equipment

Connect to the outlet

The right hand side port will have a screw on threaded head while the red end of the cable won’t but it’s OK, just push the cable head on over the screw threads; it’ll just take a little pressure to fit on over the port, but it’s designed that way.
Now take the opposite end of that cable and connect this to the co-ax splitter. The correct port to use on the splitter is the side which has only one co-ax port.
Connect to the TV box
Next take the red of the cable end and push this on to the port on the co-ax splitter marked Set Top Box. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the set top box and the other end to the HDMI port on your TV set.
Connect to the Hub/Modem
You should now have only one co-ax cable remaining, this will have two red ends. Take one end and push this on to the remaining co-ax port on the splitter marked Cable Modem and push the opposite end of the cable on to the co-ax port on the back of your Hub.
Power up your TV box
Turn your TV on
Remove the orange tab from the remote control and press the Box standby power button at the top right. The box should now run through a start up routine and you may hear its fan spinning. A graphic onscreen as the box loads up. You’ll see a language selection – highlight English and press OK on your remote.
The next message onscreen will ask if you would like the box to suggest personalised content for you. We’d recommend selecting Yes to this, as the Virgin TV box will review what you like to watch and give you suggestions.
The next screen will now ask you to set the standby power usage. We recommend using High standby power mode as this ensures all services will continue operating when the box is in standby.
Power-up your Hub
Now you need to connect the modem power cable to the back of the Hub itself, and the other end to the nearest plug socket. When you’re done, flip the A/C power switch on the back of the Hub into the On position – that’s the one with the ‘I’ symbol.
Your Hub will now go through a boot-up process and this can take approximately five mins. Once it’s complete, you’ll see only one solid white light displayed on the front panel.
Connecting to your WiFi network
Look for available wireless networks on your device. Once you can see the list of available networks you need to identify which is yours – when you choose it, it will ask you for your network password which you just noted down.
Connecting your landline
Important: Landline devices are not supplied by default with our bundles, but most of the common ones can be connected and used with our set ups.
