How do I Activate my PNC Debit or Credit Card?

For personal and business debit cards, you can activate your card by:

1. Calling the phone number found on the sticker on the card, or

2. Visiting any PNC ATM. Insert your card into the machine and use the PIN that you created when you opened your account. If you did not create a PIN, you will have to wait for a PIN to be mailed to you in order to activate your card using a PNC ATM.

3. Once your card is activated, you can start using it right away.

2. Logging into Online Banking:

  • Navigate to the Account Activity Page for your credit card account, and
  • Click on the Activate Card link

How do I make a payment on my credit card?

Online: Sign on to Online Banking at pnc.com and make a one-time or recurring payment by selecting “Make a Payment” or “Pay Today” on the account activity screen for your account.

Automated Payments: Download the Credit Card Automated Payment Authorization form. Complete, sign, and return this form by mail, fax, or to a branch using the instructions provided on the form.

Phone: Call us at 1-800-239-5175. If you used voice banking at BBVA USA, you can make a self-service payment. You will need your PNC account number for authentication. Or, you can make your payment with the assistance of an agent.

Mobile: You can use the PNC Mobile app to pay from a PNC checking or savings account.

Mail: Mail a check with the coupon at the bottom of your statement. If you don’t use your payment coupon, make sure you write your PNC credit card account number on the check. Keep in mind that mailing your payment without your payment coupon or not in the envelope provided with your statement can delay crediting of your payment:

Can I use my card(s) internationally?

You can use your card(s) when traveling internationally. However, before you do, we recommend you notify us before you leave to have a travel notice placed on your account(s).

There are two ways to place a travel notification:  

1. Sign on to Online Banking:

  • Navigate to the Debit/ATM Card Services, Credit Card Account Activity, or Customer Service page, and
  • Click on the Notify Us of Travel link

2. Sign into the PNC Mobile Banking app:

  • Tap the menu icon (three lines), then tap Cards.
  • Tap Card Actions in the bottom of the Cards screen.
  • Tap Set a Travel Notification.

3. Call the phone number found on the back of your card
