Paramount Plus.com/PS4 : How can I stream Paramount+ on my PS4?
Sign up for Paramount+ on your PS4
You can sign up for Paramount+ on your PS4 with these simple steps:
- After downloading the app, open it and select Sign Up. You’ll see an access code displayed on your TV screen.
- Visit paramountplus.com/ps4 on your computer or mobile web browser, enter the on-screen access code, then click “Activate.”
- Choose a subscription plan, then click “Continue.”
- Create a Paramount+ account, or sign in to an existing one, then click “Continue.”
- Enter sign up information, and click “Start Paramount+.”
- Your device screen will automatically refresh, and you can start streaming Paramount+.
Stream Paramount+ on your PS4 (existing subscribers)
Once you have added the Paramount+ app, there are two ways to sign in:
On your TV
- Go to Settings > Sign In.
- Select On my TV.
- Enter the email address and password you used when subscribing to Paramount+ and select Sign In. That’s it!
On paramountplus.com
- Go to Settings > Sign In.
- Select On paramountplus.com.
- You’ll be presented with a website and a code. Make a note of this code—you’ll need it for the next step.
- Visit paramountplus.com/ps4 on your computer or mobile device, enter your activation code, and select “Activate”. If you’re not signed in to Paramount+ on your computer, you’ll need to do so here.
- Your screen will refresh, and you can start streaming on your PS4.
Upgrade to Premium
If you signed up for Paramount+ on your PS4, use the steps below to upgrade your plan. Note that you cannot switch subscription plans directly on your console.
- Visit paramountplus.com and click on your user name in the upper righthand corner.
- Click “Account.”
- Next to “Paramount+ Plan”, click “Edit Plan.”
- Select “Premium” then “Switch Plan”. If you change your mind, just click “Cancel”. A confirmation screen will display your upgraded Premium status. If you switch plans in the middle of a free trial, you’ll lose the remainder of your free trial and will be billed immediately.
If you originally signed up for Paramount+ on another platform or billing system (Apple Store, Roku, etc.), you’ll be prompted to return to that platform to change your plan.
Switch to Essential
If you’d like to switch your existing plan to Essential, visit paramountplus.com on your computer, phone, or tablet, and follow the steps below (PLEASE NOTE that the Limited Commercials plan has been discontinued, and if you switch to the Essential plan, you will NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR LOCAL LIVE CBS STATION).
- Visit paramountplus.com and click on your user name in the upper righthand corner.
- Click “Account.”
- Next to “Paramount+ Plan”, click “Edit Plan.”
- Select “Essential”, then “Switch Plan”. If you change your mind, just click “Cancel”. A confirmation screen will display your Essential status. If you switch plans in the middle of a free trial, you’ll lose the remainder of your free trial and will be billed immediately.

Force close the Paramount+ (app crashing)
If the app crashes, you can easily resolve this and other streaming issues with these steps:
- With the Paramount+ app open on your screen:
- Press and hold the PS button on your PS4 controller until the blue Quick Menu appears on your screen.
- Select Close Application.
- Relaunch the Paramount+ app.
Update to the latest Paramount+ app version
It’s a good idea to ensure you’re running the latest version of the Paramount+ app for optimal streaming. To check for updates:
- Press the Options button while the application is highlighted in the content area.
- Select “Check for Updates.”
Find your IP address or device ID
Encountering issues when streaming live TV, like the video keeps loading or you see a black screen? If you need to contact customer support, we’ll need your IP address or device ID to resolve the problem. Here’s how you can find them.
To find your IP address:
- Select Settings from the main menu, then Network
- Select the View Connection Status option. You should see the IP address listed on this page
To find your MAC address (no Device ID)
- Select Settings from the main menu, then Network
- Select View Connection Status
- Your MAC address appears on this screen
Restart your device to fix streaming issues
If you have trouble streaming, you can often resolve it by restarting your console with any of these methods:
- Select “Power” from the function screen, then select “Turn off PS4.” After your console shuts off, restart it by pressing the “PS4” button.
- On the Quick Menu, select “Power,” then “Turn Off PS4.” Once it turns off, select the “Power” button to turn the console back on.
- Press and hold the power button for at least 7 seconds, until the system beeps twice. After the power turns off, restart the console by pressing the PS button.
Turn on accessibility features (closed captions, audio descriptions)
To turn on closed captions, use any of the options below.
While streaming live TV:
Press on the back button on the PS4 controller to enable closed captions.
For streaming all video (live TV, on-demand video)
- From the PS4 Quick Menu, go to Accessibility > Closed Captions.
- Check the box for Display Closed Captions.
- To format closed captions
- Select Closed Caption Settings
- Uncheck the box next to “Display Closed Captions as Specified by Content” to adjust the text including font type, size, text color, background color, and more.
How to cancel
If you signed up for Paramount+ on your PS4, please use this cancel instruction:
- Visit paramountplus.com and click on user initials in the upper righthand corner.
- Click “Account.”
- Scroll down and click “Cancel subscription.”
