HBO Max TV Sign In Not Working : How do I fix HBO Max application error?
If you’re getting a ‘Something went wrong’ message or an HBO Max error code, Sign out of HBO Max. Turn your device off. Wait 10 seconds and turn it back on again. Open HBO Max and sign in, then try streaming again.
You may need to try more than one of these solutions to resolve the issue.

Restart HBO Max
Phone, tablet or TV device: Force close HBO Max, then reopen the app and try to stream.
Computer: Close and reopen your browser, then go back to HBOMax.com and try to stream.
Play another show or movie
Try streaming different shows and movies to see if the problem happens with any show or movie, or only a particular show or movie. If the error only happens with a particular show or movie, please contact us and let us know.

Update HBO Max
Make sure you have the latest version of the HBO Max app. To do this open the app store on your device, search for HBO Max, and see if there’s an update available. If there’s an app update, download it and try streaming again.
Roku: On your Roku, highlight the HBO Max channel and press the Star button (*). Choose Check for updates to download any app updates, then try streaming again.
Computer: Go to HBOMax.com and do a hard refresh for the page (this is not the same as the Reload button in your browser). To find out how to do this, search the Internet for ‘hard refresh’ + the name of your browser (e.g. ‘hard refresh Chrome’).
Sign out and restart your device
1. Sign out of HBO Max.
2. Turn your device off.
3. Wait 10 seconds and turn it back on again.
4. Open HBO Max and sign in, then try streaming again.
Try another device
Try streaming HBO Max on another supported device. This will help determine if the problem is limited to a specific device.
Computer: Try using another supported browser.

Update HBO Max
- Android: Open the Play Store on your Android device and search for HBO Max. If an app update is available tap Update.
- iOS: Open the App Store on your iOS device and search for HBO Max. If an app update is available tap Update.
Update your device software
- Android: Open Settings, then tap System > System Update.
- iOS: Open Settings, then tap General > Software Update.
Once updated, try streaming again.
Test your connection speed
- Android: Download an Internet speed test app from the Google Play Store and test your connection speed.
- iOS: Download an Internet speed test app from the Apple App Store and test your connection speed.
You need a minimum download speed of 5 Mbps. If videos are buffering, see HBO Max buffers or pauses.
Cellular connection? If you’re using a cellular data connection, try connecting to a wireless network to see if the problem still happens.
Restart your network devices
1. Unplug the power from your network devices (modem, router, etc.).
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Reconnect the power to your modem and wait for it to connect to the Internet (about 1 minute).
4. Reconnect the power to your router and wait for it to connect to the Internet.
5. Open HBO Max and try streaming again.
