How To Activate Amazon Gift Card

To activate your Amazon Gift Card, select Amazon Pay balance on the payment method selection page. You can combine credit/debit card or net banking with your Amazon Pay balance to complete a purchase.

Make sure you are entering the Gift Card Code (14 characters long alphanumeric code) and not the Gift Card Reference ID (16-digit numeric code).

E-mail: You can directly add an e-mail Gift Card from your email by clicking on the Add to my Account link.

Shared via link: You can directly add a Gift Card shared via link by clicking on the Add to your balance link.

You will be asked to login to your Amazon.in account and your Gift Card funds will be automatically added to Your Account.

  • An e-Gift Card (E-mail or Share via link) Code is 14 characters long and contains both letters and numbers (for example AS25-NZ1JX-CZCP5).
  • A Physical Gift Card Code is 14 characters long and contains both letters and numbers (no hyphens, for example Y12RBV5J45Q67C).
  • A Gift Card Reference ID contains 16 numbers (for example, 6014 8515 3019 3950). It is different from a Gift Card Code and should NOT be added to the Add Gift Card section in Amazon Pay.

Why am I not able to add my Gift Card?

Gift Card Expiry: Check if the gift card you are trying to add has expired. If yes, contact us to extend the expiry date.

Gift Card Code: Make sure you are entering the Gift Card Code (14 characters long alphanumeric code) and not the Gift Card Reference ID (16-digit numeric code).

Gift Card Redeemed Error: If you get an error stating that ‘the Gift Card has already been used/redeemed’ while adding the Gift Card, visit Your Transactions to see if the gift card is already applied to your account, or to the Amazon account of any of your family members.

Card Activation: If the Gift Card you are trying to use was given to you by an organization, please contact them to check if the card is activated.

Note: International Customers cannot use Gift Cards.

How do I use an Amazon Pay Gift Card?

To use your Amazon Pay Gift Card balance for a purchase, select Amazon Pay balance on the payment method selection page. You can combine credit/debit card or net banking with your Amazon Pay balance to complete a purchase.

Note: Gifts & Credits balance cannot be combined with EMI or Pay on Delivery.

My Gift Card balance expired. What should I do now?

Kindly keep the Gift Card Reference ID (not the Code) handy and contact for assistance.

I purchased an e-Gift Card, but I have not received it yet.

  • E-gift cards generally arrive within 15 minutes of ordering. Sometimes it may take up to 24 hours.
  • Scheduled E-mail Gift Cards or e-Gift Cards are delivered to the recipient by 5 AM on the scheduled date of delivery.

If the E-Gift cards have not arrived by the time-lines mentioned above, please:

  1. Check if the recipient’s email ID was correctly entered.
  2. Try resending the Gift Card using the Resend button in Your Orders, next to your Gift Card order (on desktop) to the same or a different email ID.
Note: The Resend button will not appear if:

  • The recipient has already redeemed the Gift Card.
  • The Gift Card is scheduled to deliver at any specific time.

How do I purchase an Amazon Pay Gift Card?

1. You can use Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Netbanking, and UPI to purchase an Amazon Pay Gift Card.

2. You cannot use existing Amazon Pay balance, Debit/Credit Card issued outside of India or a Gift Card to purchase another Gift Card.

3. e-Gift Card orders cannot be placed using EMI or POD. Physical cards can be paid using the EMI option, Credit and Debit Cards, and POD option for few pin codes. Customers will be able to choose from existing options at checkout.

4. You cannot use corporate Credit Card for Physical and e-Gift Card purchases.

Note: Amazon can disable credit cards for purchase of Gift Cards from time to time on select accounts. You can use any of the other permitted instruments such as Debit Cards, Netbanking and UPI in case you do not see the option to use credit card on your Gift Card purchase.

Do Amazon Pay Gift Cards expire?

The expiry date of your Gift Card balance can be tracked from Your Transactions. We will also send multiple reminder notifications before the expiry date of your Gift Card balance.

If your Scheduled Gift Card expires, contact to extend the expiry date.

How to redeem Branded Gift Cards?

The Branded Gift Cards have a 12-month expiry period. The mode of redemption of the Branded Gift Cards may vary from online redemption to in-store redemption depending on the brand. Please refer to the ‘How to Redeem’ section of the brand provided under Product Description for these details.

For Example: To Redeem a Swiggy Gift Card

Step:1 – Login to Swiggy mobile App and go to “Account” section.

Step:2 – Click on Swiggy Money and click on “Activate Swiggy Money”.

Step:3 – Complete the minimum KYC by adding name, date of birth and Govt ID

Step:4 – You will receive an OTP on registered mobile number. Add the OTP

Step:5 – Click on “Add Voucher” button, on the top right of the page.

Step:6 – You can add the 16 digit voucher code and the pincode and the gift card amount will be added to your Swiggy wallet.
