In June 2023, the Metro Board authorized making the Pay-As-You-Go program permanent at metroexpresslanes.net. Under this program, the cost of using the ExpressLanes without a valid FasTrak account/transponder has been reduced to $8 plus the posted toll rate.

How do I access my account online?
You can maintain your account by logging into your account. If you need assistance, you may contact the Metro ExpressLanes Service Center by sending a message through your online account or calling (877) 812-0022.
How it Works
If a vehicle enters the Metro ExpressLanes on the I-10 and I-110 without a valid FasTrak account/transponder, a notice of toll evasion violation is mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle with payment instructions for the toll amount plus an $8 processing fee which must be paid within 30 days to avoid additional penalties.
What will be mailed to the registered vehicle owner?
Under this policy, if a vehicle travels in the ExpressLanes without a valid FasTrak account/transponder, a “Notice of Toll Evasion” will be mailed to the registered vehicle owner with details about the vehicle and the trip, along with a summary of the amount due and instructions for payment.
How much will I owe?
Without a FasTrak account/transponder, the amount due on the first mailed notice will be the posted toll amount at the time of the trip, plus an $8 processing fee. The balance must be paid within 30 days.
What happens if I don’t pay within 30 days?
If the balance due on the first mailed notice is not paid in 30 days, the fees will increase and may eventually result in DMV registration hold and/or collections action.
With this new policy in place, what is the benefit of having a FasTrak account and transponder?

- Tolls automatically debited from your pre-paid account
- Participation in the Low Income Assistance Plan, for eligible members
