To log in to Trinity College Dublin’s Blackboard, follow these steps:

1. Visit the Blackboard login page: TCD Blackboard at http://tcd.blackboard.com/.
2. Use your Trinity username and password to log in.
3. If you’re a student, note that it can take up to 48 hours after registering for Trinity at my.tcd.ie before you can gain access to Blackboard.

Getting started

Blackboard can be accessed via mymodule.tcd.ie using your Trinity username and password.

Staff and students can visit the Help sections within Blackboard for guides on using Blackboard and related technologies such as Panopto, Turnitin and Collaborate.

You will use your Trinity username and network login password to access to the many IT facilities on campus and also from home

For example check your email, use Library services online, gain access to Trinity Wi-Fi, get educational discounts and much more

Log in to my.tcd.ie and “Activate your Trinity Computer Account”

To log into my.tcd.ie for the first time, you will need the temporary username and password that was sent to the e-mail address you gave during the College application process.

Once logged into my.tcd.ie:

1. Click on the Home menu item

2. Under the “Your Trinity Computer Account” section, click on Activate your Trinity Computer Account

3. Tick the box next to “Agree to the Terms and Conditions for Trinity Computer Account users in Trinity” and click Continue

4. A window confirming you have accepted the Terms and Conditions will open. Click Exit

5. You will then be brought back to the “Home” section of the site. In the “New Intray Messages” section, there will be a new message with the subject name “Your Trinity Computer Account – Username and Password”

• • If you cannot see this message, click the “All Messages” link which will refresh the Intray

6. Once you open this message, at the top it will list the following:

• • Trinity Computer Account Username
  • Initial Network Login Password
  • Trinity MyZone Email Address

To proceed with the part 2 of the computer account set up, you will need the Trinity MyZone Email Address and Initial Network Login Password as listed in the message.

How students can change their password

Option 1: Using Microsoft 365 Self-Service Password Reset

The Microsoft 365 self-service password reset tool allows you to change your password if you know it, reset your password if you have forgotten it, or unlock your account. This tool is available via office.tcd.ie.

Option 2: Using a Windows computer connected to college.tcd.ie domain

It is very easy for you to change your password, using a Windows computer connected to the college.tcd.ie domain.

Here are the steps to change your password using a computer connected to college.tcd.ie domain:

1. On the keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+Del.
2. Click Change a password.
3. Type the old (current) password, then the new password and confirm it.

New students – Setting your password for the first time

After you have activated your computer account at my.tcd.ie, you will receive a message in your Intray with your username and and “Initial Network Login Password”. The message will include the steps on how to change your initial password and set up two-step sign-in in Microsoft 365.
