Chip and PIN card

Your card has a microchip which is impossible to counterfeit. If you enter the wrong PIN three times, your card will be locked. You will need to visit the branch to unlock it.

How do you use Absa?

1. Click Log in from the top right corner of your Home screen
2. Click Next
3. Enter your access account number, PIN & user number (Note that the default user number is 1. Otherwise, enter your given user number)
4. Enter the captcha code (if required)
5. Click Next
6. Enter the missing characters of your password
7. Click Logon

How to bank securely online

1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
   Complete the Logon details
   Click next
3. Click on Forgot password
4. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
5. Create a new password
   Re-enter the new password to confirm
   Please take note of the password rules when creating your new password
   Click Next to continue
6. You have successfully reset your password

How to buy prepaid online

1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
3. Click on the Buy tab in the top left of the screen
   Select Prepaid electricity from the dropdown
4. Click Buy for someone new
5. Accept the verification request that is sent to your registered device
6. Enter the Meter number
   Click Search
7. Complete the Purchase details
   Click Next
8. View the prepaid electricity purchase details
   Click Confirm
9. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
10. Your prepaid electricity purchase is successful and your token will display on screen
    Click Done

Note: You can purchase a prepaid minimum amount of R30 to a maximum of R1 000 per day. A prepaid maximum amount of R3 000 can be purchased per month. For prepaid electricity queries please call us on 08600 08600.

How to make online payments

• On the Absa website home page click on Log in on the top right of the screen
• Logon to Absa Online Banking
• Click Select Beneficiaries from the side menu
• Click Add beneficiary
• Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
• Select Absa listed beneficiary
• Complete Beneficiary details
  Fill in Your details
  Fill in the Notice of payment details
  Click Next
• Click Confirm
• Beneficiary is successfully added
  Click Done or Pay this beneficiary to continue

Note: Some institutions such as SARS, municipalities or department stores can’t be paid normally because Absa has already added them as beneficiaries. These types of beneficiaries are called ‘Absa listed beneficiaries’.
