You can activate your Gift Card at https://balance.amexgiftcard.com or by calling the toll-free number listed on the back of your Card (1-888-846-4308). 

To activate an American Express gift card, you can visit balance.amexgiftcard.com and follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Website: Go to balance.amexgiftcard.com on your computer.
  2. Enter Card Information: You’ll be prompted to enter your card details, including the card number, expiration date, and security code.
  3. Sign In: After entering the card information, sign in to complete the activation process.
  4. View Your Balance: Once activated, you can also view your card balance on the same website.

American Express Gift Cards can be delivered to the purchaser or the recipient. American Express® Business Gift Cards can only be shipped to the business entity that placed the order.

You cannot ship Gift Cards to PO Boxes, APO or FPO addresses, or international addresses.

Delivery time depends on the shipping method selected. You can opt for Rush (2-3 business days), Expedited (3-4 business days), or Standard (5-6 business days).

If you selected a shipping method that has a tracking number it will be emailed once the order ships.

What do I do if my Gift Card is lost or stolen?

If you believe that your Card has been lost or stolen, you need to notify us immediately by calling 1-888-846-4308. You will be asked to provide us with the Card number and other identifying information. We cannot provide a replacement Card unless you provide your Card number and all other requested information. If our records show a balance remaining on the Card, we will cancel the lost Card and issue a replacement Card to you in an amount equal to the remaining balance.

How do I use my American Express Gift Card to shop in-store?

1. Be sure to know your balance before you shop. Check your balance at https://balance.amexgiftcard.com or call 1-888-846-4308. To use your Gift Card along with another form of payment, just tell the cashier how much you want to apply to each payment type.
