Apple releases iOS 15.0.1 with ‘Apple Watch Unlock’ fix on iPhone 13
Apple releases iOS 15.0.1 with ‘Apple Watch Unlock’ fix on iPhone 13
Since iOS 15 was first released in September, Apple has been steadily rolling out updates. The most recent is iOS 15.0.1, which was released today. Two weeks after the release of iOS 15, the company has released a bug fix update, iOS 15.0.1.
Some major features were still missing from iOS 15.0’s initial build, which was released last week. FaceTime’s revolutionary new screen/entertainment sharing system, SharePlay, has been delayed by Apple until later this year. After the public release of iOS 15.0, Apple reintroduced SharePlay in the developer and public beta testing versions of iOS 15.1. Since this is the case, it’s likely that iOS 15.0.1 won’t be available tomorrow, but rather iOS 15.1 will.
The iOS 15.0.1 update is free to all users and can be found in the Settings app on their eligible devices. In order to access the new software, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update in your device.
This morning’s update is likely to fix an issue with the Apple Watch that has been plaguing users of the iPhone 13. Many iPhone 13 owners are unable to use the feature designed to unlock an iPhone with an authenticated Apple Watch when wearing a mask because they have an iPhone 13.
Other iOS 15 bugs have been discovered, such as slow touch screen responsiveness and more. It’s still up in the air whether or not today’s release of iOS 15.0.1 will fix the problem. Another question is whether today’s update corrects an issue with the iPhone 13 Pro’s ProMotion display and third-party applications.
To get iOS 15.0.1 and iPadOS 15.0.1, go to the Settings app, select General, and then Software Update from the drop-down menu.
There has been an issue with communication with the Apple Watch for those who have attempted to use this feature. The bug was reported to Apple and a fix was promised shortly after. The fix is now included in the iOS 15.1 beta.
Among other things, the new update fixes a bug that could make the Settings app mistakenly show a warning that storage is full, and it addresses a problem that could cause some Fitness+ subscribers’ audio meditations to start an unexpected workout on their Apple Watch.
You’ll find a number of bug fixes in this version of iOS.
– iPhone 13 models may not be unlocked using the Apple Watch method.
A warning that storage is full may be displayed incorrectly in the Settings app. For some Fitness+ subscribers, audio meditations may start an Apple Watch workout without their knowledge.
The Settings app and audio meditations have been fixed in iPadOS 15.0.1, which was also released by Apple.
This bug prevents some developers from taking full advantage of 120Hz ProMotion displays for their app animations, and Apple has said it plans to fix it. That fix may also be included in the update.
