To use Bay Area bridges without a toll tag or License Plate Account at bayareafastrak.org, you may set up a short-term, one-time payment account that allows you to pay recent or future tolls online with a credit card, or with cash, check or money order at a FasTrak retail location.

FasTrak provides several convenient options for drivers to pay their toll, invoice, or violation. Beginning January 1, 2021, all Bay Area toll bridges have switched to automatic toll collection. Following the suspension of cash toll collection in March 2020, drivers who did not pay their tolls with FasTrak received individual toll notices for each crossing. Those drivers will now receive a monthly invoice and payment is required within 21 days.

Customers who do not pay by the invoice due date will receive a “Notice of Toll Evasion” with a penalty for each toll crossing.

Express Lane customers who do not have a FasTrak Toll Tag will receive a “Notice of Toll Evasion” with a penalty for each toll crossing.

Online

FasTrak accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

FasTrak accepts the following payment types:-

• Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) can be used when paying online, by phone or in person
• Cash can be used when paying in person
• Personal check, money order or cashier’s check can be used when paying by mail or in person

One-Time Payments

Pay a FasTrak Toll Invoice

As of January 2021, tolls incurred at Bay Area bridges will be included on a Toll Invoice when a toll is not electronically collected through the use of a FasTrak toll tag, License Plate Account, or One-Time Payment

FasTrak will issue an invoice to the vehicle’s registered owner following the first toll crossing. Any future toll crossings will be included on a monthly invoice, the period for which starts on the date of the first crossing. You must pay this invoice within 21 days online, over the phone, by mail, or by using a Cash Payment Location. State bridges and Golden Gate Bridge transactions will be on separate monthly invoices

If you use Bay Area Express Lanes, you must use a FasTrak toll tag, otherwise you will receive a violation notice including toll evasion penalties.

Violations

If you do not pay a toll invoice on time, or you do not pay a toll on a Bay Area express lane, FasTrak will issue you a violation notice, including any associated penalty fees. If you believe you’ve received a violation notice in error, you can dispute the violation by clicking the button below and providing the required information to review your claim. You will need your violation number to submit your claim.

First-time Violations

If the violation you received is your first, FasTrak will waive the violation penalty if you open a FasTrak account within 30 days of the unpaid toll crossing. FasTrak will then deduct the unpaid toll from your new account and waive the penalty portion of the amount due.

You can start the web sign-up process when you receive the violation and backdate the license plate start date by as much as 30 days to ensure the transaction clears to your account.
