More Information: Dearness Allowance Hike Notification, Latest News: The Central Government today announced that the Government employees and pensioners will be receiving a DA and DR increase.
On the government’s announcement, both DA and DR for central government employees and pensioners will see an increase.
Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for Labour and Employment, announced during a press conference that the Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government employees and pensioners has increased from 17% to 28%. From July 1st, 2021, this will be relevant.
On Wednesday, the Cabinet Committee on the Dormant Accounts and Pensioners met and decided to raise the DA and DR for both employees and pensioners (July 14, 2021). As of July 1, 2021, central government employees and pensioners will receive an increase of 11% over the existing rate of 17% of basic pay.
Three additional installments of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) that were due on January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020, and January 1, 2021 have been frozen in light of the unprecedented crisis that emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The current rate of 17% has been increased to 28% effective July 1st, 2021 for Central Government employees and July 1st, 2021 for pensioners, according to the Ministry of Finance.
It’s related to the additional installments that will appear on January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020, and January 1, 2021.” For the period January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021, the Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief rate will remain at 17 percent.
