Florida Teacher Dies of Covid : Four Florida teachers died this week
Four professors in the Florida county of Broward have been killed by Covid-19 this week as a coronavirus delta rages over mask mandates and immunisation in the state in the political ranks.
Anne Fusco, President of Broward Teachers Union, which covers one of the biggest school regions in the country, told local media outlets: “Throughout our 24-hour term, we have had an assistant teacher, a teacher at her school pass away, an elementary teacher pass away and another secondary teacher.
Fusco claimed that there were three unvaccinated teachers and the 4th teacher was unknown at that time.
Florida has a record surge and state pressure in hospitals in Covid 19 cases. Close to 90% of intensive care units in government reporting hospitals occupy approximately 50% of those with coronavirus and approximately 85% of hospital capacity. The Daytonabeach News-Journal reported that Florida is the only state in the US to have more than one quarter ordinary hospital beds distributed to people living with Covid.
According to the Covid 19 dashboard in Broward County School, the district has had a positive test of 138 employees from the beginning of August.

This week, despite the Governor’s executive order, the school district voted to retain its mask mandate.
Florida’s educational commissioner Richard Corcoran on Tuesday threatened to impose sanctions in Broward schools if the district failed to meet State rules requiring a parent opt-out for refused children’s masks.
In a letter to interim superintendent Vickie Cartwright and chairman of the school board at Broward schools, Rosalind Osgood, Corcoran wrote: ‘The action taken at today’s Broward County School Board meeting shows that you have no actual intentions that this order will be complied with, which aims to guarantee the parents/guardians choices concerning their children while safeguarding their lives.
