Funimation content is moving to Crunchyroll: Should I cancel my Funimation account
As of Mar 1, 2022, existing and new Crunchyroll subscribers will have access to library and simulcast content previously exclusive to Funimation. All new series from the upcoming Spring 2022 season will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll; Funimation will only continue to add new episodes of current series.
Should I cancel my Funimation account and open a Crunchyroll account?
With so many new shows coming to Crunchyroll, Funimation subscribers will want to sign-up for a Crunchyroll subscription as soon as possible!
In fact, if you’re a Funimation paying subscriber and you started your subscription before 2/28/22, we’ll be offering you a 60-day Free Trial of Crunchyroll Premium. This offer is available to new Crunchyroll subscribers only, so if you already have a paid Crunchyroll subscription, you won’t be eligible. Qualified users will receive an email by March 8, 2022 with their own unique link to redeem this offer.
Please note that your existing Funimation digital copy, watch history or queue won’t be transferred to Crunchyroll yet, but we’re working on it.
Can I access Crunchyroll with my Funimation login credentials?
Not at this time. If you’re a Funimation subscriber, the best way to get access to all the latest shows is to start a new subscription with Crunchyroll. Please note that you won’t see your Funimation digital copy, watch history or queue in Crunchyroll yet, but we’re working on it.
I have both a Crunchyroll subscription and a Funimation subscription, should I cancel one of them?
All new series from the upcoming spring season will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll going forward and you will be able to watch many of Funimation and Wakanim’s most popular existing series on Crunchyroll by the end of March 2022. So, if you already have a Crunchyroll subscription, then you’re all set and can go ahead and cancel Funimation when you’re ready! Please note that you won’t see your Funimation watch history or queue in Crunchyroll yet.
I have an annual subscription with time left, what do I do?
If you have an annual Funimation Subscription, please reach out to Customer Support here and provide the email address to both your current Funimation account and your new Crunchyroll account and our team will help you. If you have not created your Crunchyroll account yet, please do that here before reaching out, this will enable us to assist you more quickly.
