How many people can share a Hulu subscription?
Hulu subscribers are able to stream from two different screens at one time. While you catch up on last night’s episodes in one room, the rest of the family can settle in for a movie night in another — no more fighting over the remote.
You can download the Hulu app and activate your account on as many supported devices as you’d like, but only two of them can be streaming simultaneously. If you attempt to stream from an additional device, you may see an error message on that screen.
Unlimited Screens Add-on
If you’re a Live TV subscriber and need more than two screens, you have the option to get the Unlimited Screens Add-on. With the add-on, you can stream on all the devices connected to your Home network at the same time. If you’re out of the house and on the go, you can also stream from up to three different mobile devices.
If you also subscribe to Max, Cinemax , Paramount+ with SHOWTIME and/or STARZ on Hulu, note that content from premium networks can only be streamed simultaneously on five screens — three of which can be out-of-home mobile devices.
Setting your Home network
To set your Home network, you must be using the internet connection you plan to designate as “Home” — Once connected, you can set your Home network in one of two ways:
- Log in on a supported living room device
- Visit your online Account page on a computer or mobile browser, then click Set or Change Home under the Privacy and Settings section

Changing your Home network
If you move, get a new ISP, or need to change your Home network for any reason, you can do so by following the steps outlined above while connected to your new network. Anytime you use Hulu on a living room device connected to a different network, you’ll get an error message stating you’re not at home
At this point you can choose to update your Home network or watch shows and movies available in Hulu’s streaming library. You can change your Home network up to four times during a 12-month period.
Mobile check-in
You can use your mobile devices to stream when you’re away from Home, but you’ll need to check in every 30 days to avoid any interruptions in service.
To check in, simply open the Hulu app while you’re at Home. Once you do, you’ll be able to use Hulu on a mobile device anywhere in the U.S. uninterrupted (as long as you check in at least every 30 days).
Forgot to check in at Home, or are unable to do so? You can still stream content from the Hulu streaming library on your mobile device. Live TV will be unavailable until you check-in.
