How To Activate Microsoft 365 on Mac
To set up your account and install Microsoft 365 for the first time, visit setup.office.com. If you have already created your account, visit account.microsoft.com
If your purchase of Office or Microsoft 365 came with a product key, you enter your product key on one of the websites listed below for your product. After you enter your key, you can download and install Office, or you can renew your Microsoft 365 subscription
Microsoft 365 Basic subscription is for one person and it does work with Mac OS, but please note that it doesn’t include Office 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote etc) desktop client application.
Microsoft 365 Basic subscription only include Microsoft 365 apps for web(online) like (Word for web, Excel for web, PowerPoint for web, and OneNote for web).
To use Office 365 desktop client apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote etc) on your Mac OS, you may use Office 365 personal/Family subscription. Or Office 2021 (one-time purchase) is a perpetual license. it Offers standalone desktop versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Mac OS.
To redeem a new purchase
Step 1: Go to www.office.com/setup or Microsoft365.com/setup.
Step 2: Sign in with your Microsoft account, or create one if you don’t have one. Be sure to remember this account so that you can install or reinstall Office later, without a product key.
Important: If you’re renewing your Microsoft 365 subscription, enter the Microsoft account that’s associated with your subscription. =
Step 3: Enter your product key, without hyphens, if prompted. If you don’t see the option to enter your product key, it was entered for you automatically.
Step 4: Follow the prompts to finish the redemption process.

To install or reinstall Office
If you see the error This product key has already been used when you enter your product key on www.office.com/setup or Microsoft365.com/setup, this means your product key has already been redeemed and is no longer needed.
Instead, use your Microsoft account to sign in to account.microsoft.com and install your Office product.
Can I try Microsoft 365 before I buy?
Yes. You can sign up to try Microsoft 365 Family for free for a month on the Microsoft 365 website. (Note that a credit card is required for the free trial.) The trial gives you access to all the features of Microsoft 365 Family and can be shared with up to 5 people in the family. It includes:

What steps do I need to take to sign up for the trial?
1) Create or sign in with an existing Microsoft account. What is a Microsoft account?
2) Provide payment information to enable future monthly payments. International credit cards and PayPal (in some markets) are accepted.
3) The payment method you provide will be automatically charged at the end of your first free month to ensure that you do not experience any interruptions with your service. You can cancel online without penalty before your trial ends, by visiting account.microsoft.com and turning off recurring billing in the payment and billing area
4) Once your payment method is confirmed, you’ll be transferred to account.microsoft.com to install Office apps.

How do I cancel my trial before it ends?
If you signed up for the trial via the Microsoft 365 website, visit the Microsoft Account site and turn off recurring billing. With this approach, the trial will automatically expire when your month is finished, and your credit card will not be charged.
If you signed up for the trial by clicking an icon on your new PC, your trial ends automatically after a month; it isn’t necessary to cancel it. When the trial ends, you’ll be prompted to choose which Microsoft 365 plan you want to purchase.
