How to Unblock Someone on Facebook: What is unblocking and how do I unblock someone on Facebook?
When you unblock someone, that person will be able to see your posts on Facebook that you share with the public. The person won’t automatically become your friend on Facebook. If you want to become friends with a person who you’ve unblocked, you’ll need to send them a friend request.
- Click Ë…(down arrow) in the top right of Facebook.
- Select Settings & privacy, then click Settings.
- In the left column of your settings, click Blocking.
- In the Block users section, you should see a list of people you’ve blocked
- Click Unblock next to the name of the person you want to unblock
- Click Confirm to finish unblocking the person
Note: If you unblock someone, you won’t be able to block them again for a few days
How do I unblock messages from someone on Facebook?
Messages on Facebook are messages that appear in your Facebook chat list. They’re not comments on posts or posts on a profile or Page.
To unblock messages from someone on Facebook on a computer:
- In the top right of your Facebook account, click .
- Next to Messenger, click  at the top.
- Click Block settings.
- In the Block messages section, click Unblock next to the name of the person you want to unblock.
You can also unblock someone by opening a conversation that you had with them and selecting Unblock [Name] at the bottom of the chat.

- Join a room you’re in if both you and they are logged in to Facebook or Messenger.
When you block messages and calls from someone, they can still:
- See your profile on Facebook.
- Leave comments on your posts or post on your profile.
- See your messages if you’re both in the same group conversation. If you and the person who you block are in a group conversation together, you’ll be notified before you enter the conversation.
- Communicate with you if they’re not logged in to their account and join a room that you’re in. Remember that you can leave a room at any time.
