Account activation is required for all existing users who need to access Charter systems. Please read all steps below to activate your network account.

The IT self-service portal is available for employees and contractors to manage network accounts, reset or change passwords or activate a new Charter network account.

Please choose from the options for more information and to get started. If you need additional information or would like to learn more, view the interactive online training.

To further secure our network and protect the organization against external cyber threats, we are enhancing our password policy to require more complex passwords, with at least 12 alphanumeric and special characters. 

Activate my Charter systems Account Online

Account activation is required for all existing users who need to access Charter systems. Please read all steps below to activate your network account:

  1. After reading the full instructions, click the “Activate My Account Now” button below.
  2. Enter your PID or Legacy Charter login ID as the username.
  3. Enter your PIN as directed on the screen.
  4. Click the “Activate” button.
  5. Read and accept the User Agreement, then click the “Continue” button.
  6. Set a new password and confirm, following the guidelines on the screen, then click the “Change Password” button.

    IMPORTANT
    : Once established, this password will now be your new password for all Active Directory (network) login IDs you have access to. This includes your PID, Legacy Charter login ID, Legacy TWC EID or VID, or Legacy BHN login ID.
  7. The system will confirm that the password has been set and synced with all legacy accounts you have access to, then click the “Continue” button.
  8. Choose and answer four (4) security questions that will be randomly presented when you need to reset your password in the future, then click the “Save Answers” button.
  9. The system will confirm the questions have been saved and that your account is fully activated.
  10. The Charter ESSO page will appear and you should be able to log in using the password set in step 6.PLEASE NOTE: If you are not on the Charter network, the ESSO page will not appear and may get a “Page cannot be displayed” message.

Once activated, you will now have access to your Charter network account and will have registered for password self-help. You now also have access to manage your account to make changes to your preferred name as well as request access to another legacy company network and other various tasks.

Manage My Account

Please Note: Manage My Account will only work if your account has already been previously activated. If you have not activated your account or set up your security questions, you will need to activate your account before using this link.

The Charter Identity Manager portal allows users to perform various tasks related to network accounts. Many of these actions are intended for specific types of users and you may not have access. If you feel you should have access to a specific task or section, please reach out to the IT Support Desk at 888-415-0012.

Available in the Identity Management portal:

  • Request Access – Allows a user to request a legacy network account other than the legacy company they are part of.
  • My Approvals – Provides access to any approval workflows assigned to the logged in user.
  • My Request History – Shows a historical record of any requests initiated by the logged in user.
  • My Accounts – Shows what user groups the logged in user is part of.
  • My Profile – Provides access to the profile information for the logged in user. Includes the user’s name, title, email, manager, and any network accounts associated to the user.
  • Preferred Name Change – Allows the logged in user to request a change to their preferred name.
  • Change My Password – Provides a password change workflow to allow for the network password to be updated and synced across any network IDs the user has at all three legacy companies.
  • Contractor Management – Allows for the addition or removal of contractor accounts. Should only be used by users who have a need to manage contractors.
  • Search – Provides a way to search across all users within Charter for profile information associated to the user.
  • Org Chart – Provides a view of the organization in a hierarchical manner.
