The SIM Registration Act is a law that requires the registration of all SIMs (physical or electronic) in order for them to be activated. Under this, all SIM card owners (regardless of device) must register their SIMs.

Under the law, all SIMs sold by “Public Telecommunication Entities” (PTEs) or telcos and legal distributors or resellers are “in a deactivated state.” They can only be activated once end-users have registered their SIM.
