Lockdown Extension in Tamilnadu : Tamil Nadu CM Stalin has extended the coronavirus lockdown for one more week

M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, said on Saturday that the lockdown would be extended for another week, till June 14, with few exceptions.

On June 7, the present lockdown will come to an end.

Stalin stated in a statement issued here that all lawful activities will be permitted to continue.

Lockdown Extension in Karnataka

Because of the high rate of Covid-19 infection in Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, and Myladuthurai, he added that some critical services will be allowed from June 7 onwards, subject to the following restrictions.

-Standalone provisions/vegetable/fruits/fish/meat shops must operate between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.;

-Vendors of vegetables, flowers, and fruits on the sidewalk are permitted to operate between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.

-Only wholesale fish markets and slaughterhouses will be permitted to operate;

-Government agencies can function with only 30% of their employees;

-At sub-registrar offices, only 50 tokens will be distributed;

-Match box factories are only authorised to employ 50% of their workforce.

Apart from the aforementioned districts, the following services are permitted with exceptions:

-With an e-pass, private cleaning services will be permitted;

-Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, motor mechanics, and other self-employed individuals will be permitted to work between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. with an e-pass;

-Shops selling electrical goods, hardware, vehicle components, books, stationery, and car service stations (not sales showrooms) can operate between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.

-Mechanic shops for bicycles and two-wheelers can operate between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.

-E-pass can be used by taxis with three passengers other than the driver and autorickshaws with two passengers.

Those going to the hills should have an e-pass from the District Collectors.

Export units and units supplying raw materials for export units located in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Salem, Karur, Erode, Namakkal and Trichy can function for supply of samples with 10 per cent staff strength.
