The Portland Trail Blazers appear to be on the verge of a full-scale rebuild after finally shaking up their core. According to multiple reports, the Portland Trail Blazers are trading veteran guard C.J. McCollum to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Josh Hart, a first-round draught pick in the future, and other assets.

Tomas Satoransky, Nickeil Walker-Alexander, Didi Louzada, New Orleans’ 2022 first round pick (protected 1-4 and 15-30), and two second round picks are among the other players the Blazers will receive in addition to Hart, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Larry Nance Jr. and Tony Snell are also being acquired by the Pelicans as part of the deal.

Almost a decade ago, the Blazers’ foundation was built on the shoulders of McCollum and Lillard. However, the team has been to eight straight playoff games, but has never progressed beyond the conference finals. The first to leave Portland is Lillard’s backcourt mate, who has been embroiled in trade rumours for the better part of the summer. Earlier this week, the Blazers dealt the Clippers Norman Powell and Robert Covington.
