www.ncquickpass.com Pay Bill : Can I pay NC Quick Pass online?
Once you receive a bill in the mail, you can pay it online at www.ncquickpass.com/payment, by mail or by calling an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center.
NC Quick Pass is the easiest and most cost-effective way to enjoy toll roads in North Carolina and several other states. With an NC Quick Pass transponder, you can:
- Save up to 35 percent on tolls in North Carolina
- Eliminate extra fees that can be associated with toll bills
- Pay lower rates on some E-ZPass, SunPass and Peach Pass toll roads
- Set HOV status to use the I-77 Express lanes toll-free with three or more people in the vehicle with either the NC Quick Pass E-ZPass Flex or with any NC Quick Pass transponder using the NC Quick Pass HOV App or website
How does an NC Quick Pass transponder account work?
When a vehicle with an NC Quick Pass transponder passes through a toll gantry on a North Carolina toll facility, radio frequency readers automatically deduct the toll payment from the associated pre-paid account.
Users can receive free monthly email statements listing their toll usage and account balance, or they can have quarterly statements mailed to them for $5 per statement.
A transponder account also makes it easier to check toll expenses and account balances or make payments online or by phone.
What is the Bill by Mail program?
The Bill by Mail program is an alternative payment option for customers who choose not to sign up for an NC Quick Pass pre-paid transponder account.
No account or transponder is required. Instead, customers receive an invoice mailed to the address to which the vehicle is registered.
If the bill is not paid within 30 days from the date of the bill, the vehicle’s registered owner could incur fees, civil penalties, DMV registration holds and/or be turned over to a collection agency.
What if I don’t want to sign up for an NC Quick Pass transponder account?
You can travel on North Carolina toll roads without a transponder account but you will pay a higher toll rate and be billed for your tolls through the Bill by Mail program. Also, without an NC Quick Pass transponder account you will not be able to set HOV status and use the I-77 Express Lanes toll-free when there are three or more people in the vehicle.
When you travel through a toll zone on a North Carolina toll road without a transponder, an overhead camera captures an image of your vehicle’s license plate. The vehicle is identified through the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles and the toll bill is mailed to the address to which the vehicle is registered.
Once you receive a bill in the mail, you can pay it online, by mail or by calling an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center.
I received a bill in the mail. What should I do?
You received a bill because your vehicle traveled on a North Carolina toll facility. You must pay the bill by the due date to avoid penalties and fees.
You may have also received a bill if you have an HOV account and your vehicle traveled in the I-77 Express Lanes without HOV status being set.
Payments can be made online, through the NC Quick Pass automated phone system, over the phone or at an NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center or by mailing the detachable payment portion of the bill.
What is the Bill by Email option?
Customers participating in the Bill by Mail program can sign up to receive their invoices by email, instead of through the U.S. Postal Service.
Invoices delivered through the Bill by Email option follow the same guidelines and policies as invoices delivered by U.S. mail.
If the bill is not paid within 30 days from the date of the bill, the vehicle’s registered owner could incur fees, civil penalties, DMV registration holds and/or be turned over to a collection agency.
How do I sign up to receive invoices by email?
First, you’ll need the invoice number from the bill you received in the mail and either your ZIP code or license plate number.
Log in as if you were going to pay your bill and opt-in under the Bill by Email section on the page.
You will receive a confirmation at the email address on file.
