To figure out how to sign in to your Robinhood account on a new device, you’ll need to follow directions depending on whether you had two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled on your old device, if you still have your old device, and whether you still have your backup code.
If you have 2FA enabled and try to login, you should get a 2FA prompt in the app, as shown in the following example:
What’s a backup code?
Backup codes are another way to help keep your account secure. When you set up 2FA on your account, you’re asked to save a Backup code.
2FA pairs something you know (your password) and something you have (typically your authenticator app or an SMS code in a text message). If you don’t have access to your authenticator app or can’t retrieve your SMS code, then use your Backup code to log in with your new device.
