This error 253 generally appears when you are trying to verify a phone number (usually on YouTube to enable livestreaming or longer videos) or linking a Google account to a third-party service, and you have hit the “SMS/Call” limit.
Basically, the system thinks you have spammed the “Send Code” button too many times in a short period.
Here is how to fix it:
1. The 24-Hour Rule (The only real fix)
This is a “hard” security lockout. No amount of refreshing or clearing cache will bypass it immediately.
-
Stop trying now. Every time you click “Send Code” again, the timer resets.
-
Wait exactly 24 hours. After a full day, the quota usually clears and allows you to try again.
2. Use a Different Phone Number
The quota is often tied to the phone number, not just the account.
-
If you have a family member’s phone available, try entering their number to receive the code.
-
Once verified, the phone number is just a “key” to unlock the features; it doesn’t necessarily need to remain the primary recovery number forever.

3. Try the “Incognito” Method
If you suspect the error is stuck in your browser’s local storage (and you haven’t actually spammed the button):
-
Open an Incognito/Private window (Ctrl+Shift+N).
-
Log in to YouTube/Google.
-
Attempt the verification once.
