Wicked Whims issue is almost certainly caused by the Sims 4 update (Patch 1.120) released earlier this month. Game updates automatically break script mods like Wicked Whims.
Here is the step-by-step fix to get it running again:
1. The “Script Mods” Toggle (Do this first)
Every time The Sims 4 updates, it resets your settings for safety.
-
Open The Sims 4.
-
Go to Game Options > Other.
-
Check both boxes: “Enable Custom Content and Mods” and “Script Mods Allowed”.
-
Click Apply Changes and Restart the game.
2. Check Your Folder Depth (The #1 Mistake)
Script mods (.ts4script files) will not work if they are buried too deep in folders.
-
Correct:
Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods/WickedWhimsMod -
Incorrect:
.../Mods/My Folder/Adult Mods/WickedWhimsMod
Rule: The TURBODRIVER_WickedWhims_Scripts.ts4script file must be only one folder deep inside your Mods folder. If you put it inside a sub-folder of a sub-folder, the game cannot see it.

3. Delete the “Localthumbcache”
Old data often gets stuck in the cache.
-
Go to
Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/. -
Find the file named
localthumbcache.package. -
Delete it. The game will generate a fresh one when you launch next.
4. Update the Mod Correctly (Don’t Overwrite)
If you just dragged the new files on top of the old ones, it often breaks.
-
Go to your Mods folder and delete the entire old WickedWhims folder.
-
Download the latest version (likely v185 or higher for the Dec 2025 patch).
-
Unzip the new folder and place it in Mods.
